Winter Solstice

The winter solstice is the shortest day of the year and the longest night.  Each day from this day on will grow brighter. A time of year when we reach the end and just before we begin anew.  A chance to slow down and savor the beauty in nature. To reflect and hope for brighter days ahead.

From ancient times to the present this has been a special time of year to mark the passage of time. Many religions across the world celebrate with holidays or sacred days untied by similar themes: lighting candles or fires and feasting with loved ones.
